These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at renzogracieuws.com and the in-person services offered by Renzo Gracie Upper West Side LLC(operating as “Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Upper West Side”). By using the website, submitting a trial-class request, purchasing a visitor pass, or training at the academy, you agree to these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to enter into these Terms on your own behalf. Parents or legal guardians may submit forms and enroll children in our youth programs and are responsible for the information they provide.
Trial Classes, Visitor Passes, and Membership
- Free trial classes are intended for prospective members who live in the New York City area. Visiting practitioners should purchase a visitor pass instead.
- All first-time visits must be booked in advance. We do not accept walk-ins.
- Visitor passes and membership fees are payable according to the pricing and billing cycle in effect at the time of purchase.
- Visitor passes are non-refundable once purchased. Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where otherwise stated in writing.
- Membership cancellations must be requested through official channels. We do not refund unused classes or partial billing periods unless otherwise stated in writing.
Code of Conduct
Members and visitors are expected to behave respectfully toward other students, instructors, and staff. We may refuse service, suspend membership, or terminate access for behavior that endangers or disrupts the safety, training environment, or community of the academy.
Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact martial art that involves inherent physical risks, including injury. By training with us, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow the safety instructions of our instructors. You represent that you are physically able to participate and have consulted a physician if you have any medical condition that could be affected by physical activity. Nothing in these Terms is intended to disclaim liability that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law.
Communications
When you submit a form on our website or otherwise share your contact information, you authorize us to contact you about your trial, membership, account, classes, and scheduling. Marketing email and SMS communications are sent only to people who opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time. SMS-specific terms and our consent practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
Website Use
- You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use of the website.

Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or membership at any time for breach of these Terms or for behavior that endangers or disrupts the academy. You may end your relationship with us at any time by cancelling your membership through the channels described above.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
